Our seminars are designed to educate you about the different GS1 applications and how to integrate them into your business.
Bar Code Foundation Seminar
Do you need help with:
- Creating, allocating and managing your bar codes
- Understanding bar code technical standards - type, size, location, etc
- Using MyGS1
- Improving your supply chain and inventory control
This half-day event is designed for new members and anyone wanting to improve their knowledge of bar code management and standards. You will gain the confidence to apply GS1 compliant bar codes to your products.
Investment:

Non Members - $299 + GST
New Full Members of GS1 receive complimentary voucher(s) valid for one year.

Bar code foundation seminars are held at least quarterly in Wellington, Christchurch and Auckland. The seminar will also be held in other regions throughout the year.
GS1net Foundation Seminar
Do you supply to: Foodstuffs, ITM, Mitre 10, Progressive Enterprises, or Warehouse Stationery?
Are you in the process of setting up GS1net or would you like to learn how to efficiently synchronise your product data with the above retailers?
If you said YES to either of above questions then this seminar is ideal for you!
The seminar will run from 9 - 4pm, with a morning session (compulsory), covering key foundational material such as: The principles of data synchronisation, an overview of GS1net and important key concepts, GS1net benefits and costs, and current industry status.
The afternoon session (not compulsory, but highly recommended) will cover more technical aspects of GS1net like: How to implement GS1net, practical exercises including GS1net data collection, and GS1net Data Requirements (i.e. 'What your customers require.)

GS1net Browser Template Detailed User Training
GS1 New Zealand is offering a 'refresher course' for users of the Browser Template tool. This training is designed for those already using the Browser Template and who may need additional help, tips, and tricks to better utilise this tool.
This half day session will cost $99 + GST and address topics such as:
- Key features of the Browser Template (e.g. configuration, default values)
- Recap on key 'Business as Usual' processes:
- New ranged products
- Price/ product changes
- Product discontinuation
- GS1net Live process overview/ tips for your customers.

RFID Workshop
The RFID Workshop, brought to you by GS1 with support from The New Zealand Pathfinder Group, has been designed for RFID beginners to those more advanced in the technology.
This workshop is an intensive one-day, 'hands-on' session that will give you a clear understanding of:
- The fundamentals of the technology and examples of some common applications
- Need-to-know details at a practical level, including types of RFID readers and tags, and why tag placement on products is critical for performance
- Relevant global standards
- Key features of the EPCglobal Network and how it enables real-time supply chain visibility.
